The Inland Passage along the coast of Alaska and Canada really blew my mind. There is something to be said for the ability to travel along a passage between islands and rugged coastline. Watching wildlife go by. Being treated to some of the best sunsets and sunrises I have ever seen, although they were very late at night and very early in the morning at the start of August. Perhaps one of the things I enjoyed most was that you have nowhere else to go and there is no wifi. It really forces you to slow down and immerse yourself in your surroundings and take it all in. For example, I probably would have missed this sunset if I had somewhere else to be. The gap in the clouds on the horizon wan't big enough to produce a show-stopping sunset that lit up the whole sky. But I waited around on the deck taking in the sights and half an hour after the sun had set the gap lit up subtly. I'm a big fan of complimentary colours and it was pleasing to see the golden light on the horizon contrasting with the deep blues of the evening.
